Roy-L Treatment Home Watch Services was founded in '2012.  We serve the Halton Region, Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Mississauga & most areas of Toronto.

Roy Lamoureux is the founder of Roy-L Treatment Home Watch Services.  He is also the general contractor and owner of Roy'L Construction operating in the Oakville, Burlington, Halton Region for many years.

We have recently completed Certified Home Inspection Courses at Sheridan College to further improve our expertise and protection for our clients.  This allows us to provide you the absolute best standards of service possible. 

This coupled with our many years of service in the Construction Industry allows us to be fully prepared and qualified to provide you and your home with the           "Roy-L Treatment".

Why did we create Roy-L Treatment Home Watch Services?

A very good client of Roy'L Construction our sister company was away on vacation.  While they were away they had a good friend looking in on their house, collecting mail, picking up newspapers, checking the air conditioning was working, making sure the landscape company cut the grass, etc.  

What their friend missed on their weekly visits into the home was a small leak in the basement at the HVAC (Heating-Venting-Air Conditioning) System.  It was small, not a gushing flow of water you could see if a pipe burst.  And in fairness to the friend they were not trained nor qualified to know what to watch for when they came over.  

Well a few weeks later the water damage had escalated into something much worse and remained unnoticed.  When the Home Owner came home they discovered the problem and all the damage as a direct result of the leak.  

They were only gone a couple of weeks!   Could you imagine what would have happened if they had been gone for 3-4 months like many Snow Birds do?  

We received a distressed call from the Home Owner to come over and access the damage. Unfortunately the damaged had progressed to such a point that they had to remove all the flooring, the lower part of the drywall, baseboard and trim.  Fortunately no irreplaceable personal items were damaged.  They got lucky!  If you want to call it that lucky.  A few more weeks and the damage would have been so much worse, even potential for mold to start growing!  No one wants to go through the removal process and serious expense of mold remediation.  

 The Home Owner contacted their Insurance Company and soon discovered they were not covered.  The Insurance Underwriter considered the home empty / vacant and their policy coverage was void.  This was not the news they wanted to receive or the financial impact to repair this disaster.  

Can you imagine something as simple as a clogged condensate line and not having a qualified inspector visit the home regularly to discover this problem early could turn into such tragedy?

As a result of our clients experience we pursued further investigation only to find what happened to them is quite common.  Most Insurance Companies consider anything over a week requires proper home inspection or they are not covered.   Some Insurance Companies consider as little as 72 hours away from the home     as empty / vacant, leaving you unprotected.  So what are people suppose to do when they go away on a typical family vacation for 1-2 weeks?  Most people are not aware they are not protected by their Home Policy!
 

Because of these findings "Roy-L Treatment" was born and we created a comprehensive 27 Point Home Watch Inspection Plan. 
 
We are pleased to say that we have met with most Ontario Insurance Companies and reviewed with them our services.  Through those meetings and our own expertise in the Construction Industry we have designed Programs that look after the Home Owner’s needs and also the requirements of the Insurance Companies.
